AIMS - A First Look at Trees © 1995 AIMS Multimedia
Educational program featuring a quiz game.
Description from back cover:
Trees are great for climbing, for tree-houses, and for sheltering picnickers. But trees have other more important functions – a role in the creation of paper, homes, food, and oxygen. This program explores the many practical uses of trees, as well as their other features and benefits. A wide variety of trees are introduced and many of the creatures that live in them, including birds, squirrels, and bears, are shown. Trees are the world's oldest, largest, and tallest living things and viewers will learn how they grow and how to determine their ages. Perhaps most importantly, the film stresses that when a tree is cut down, a new one should be planted – providing an environmental lesson, as well as an academic one.
