Ushio to Tora is a side-scrolling platform game based on the popular manga and anime series of the same name. The narrative follows Aotsuki Ushio, the son of a temple priest, who discovers a mystical cave and accidentally frees Tora, a powerful tiger-like demon sealed away for 500 years by the Beast Spear. Bound by circumstance, the two form an uneasy alliance to travel across Japan—from Tokyo to Hokkaido—defeating waves of demons and malevolent creatures that emerge as a result of Tora's release.

Dual Protagonist Mechanic:
The game features a unique character-selection mechanic where players can choose between Ushio and Tora, each offering distinct combat styles.
- Ushio: Wields the legendary Beast Spear to perform melee slashes and can unleash a powerful blue energy wave for ranged attacks.
- Tora: Relies on visceral, close-range combat using his sharp claws and teeth, complemented by the ability to summon bolts of lightning.

Character-Specific Power-Ups:
The game implements a health management system tailored to each character, reflecting their different species and needs:
- Recovery: Ushio restores health by consuming rice balls, while Tora replenishes his life with hamburgers.
- Health Upgrades: Magic gems serve to extend the player's maximum life bar; blue gems are used for Ushio, and red gems are designated for Tora.
