*Soundies were an early version of the music video of today. They were typically 3-minute musical films which were produced in Chicago, Hollywood and in New York between 1940 and 1946. The films were displayed on the Panoram which was a coin-operated film jukebox / machine music and were used in amusement centers, bars, factory lounges and in nightclubs.
