Join the famous adventurer Lara Croft in her bid for survival in this highly adapted iteration of the 2013/14 Square Enix Tomb Raider console game, made just for arcades.

Players will experience around 60 minutes of gameplay, of 3 chapters that have 5 sections each. You join Lara Croft's group of friends on the run from an evil cult while stranded on the island of Yamatai. One unusual aspect of this game (for a light-gun arcade game) is that is supports up to four players at a time; it also features extensive (but skippable) cutscenes.

Runs off of unspecified PC hardware.

Produced in two monitor models, each with some aesthetic cabinet differences. The Deluxe model uses a 120" projection screen; the standard a 65" LED TV.

The pistol guns use a positional sensing system that is closer in nature to game console controllers with gyroscopes, instead of the arcade normal setup of an IR sensor net around the monitor. They also have force feedback.

TRIVIA

Based upon the 2014 Tomb Raider - The Definitive Edition console game, but heavily modified to present a unique light-gun shooter experience.

Initially unveiled in January 2018 as a timed exclusive for Dave & Busters, rolling out to their locations in February. The wide release became available in May, while the standard version of the game launched in November.

The arcade chain Dave & Busters pushed for a timed exclusive to be the only company with the game for the theatrical release of the Tomb Raider movie that launched in March 2018. The promotions of the game across the company were all tied to this film.

Shares the same cabinet design with Adrenaline Amusements' Rabbid's Hollywood game. The Rabbid's game was created for kid-focused locations, while Tomb Raider was made for adult venues.

As of 2019, this is the only instance of the Tomb Raider series appearing in arcades.

UPDATES

The first version of the game shipped with software that was riddled with bugs and received some complaints due to the profanity present in the game. These issues were resolved and the profanity censored in the "V2" software of the game that shipped in the middle of 2018.

TIPS AND TRICKS

As is typical with shooters, headshots earn more points and earn critical hits, which eliminates an enemy the fastest.

Be on the look out for artifacts and tokens, which will garner more bonus points.

Each player has their own color assigned to their specific gun; from left to right the colors are: blue, green, yellow, red. Remembering your color is most helpful when playing a four player game, as the scenes can become slightly chaotic.

Shoot off the screen to reload.
