005 was supplied in Sega's standard woodgrain G80 cabinet, a design shared by many Sega arcade titles released before Zaxxon. Although considered a dedicated machine, the cabinet featured minimal game-specific artwork, making conversions relatively easy while preserving an original appearance.
The game runs on Sega's G80 hardware platform and is compatible with other G80 cabinets. Like most early Sega arcade games, it uses a vertically mounted monitor.
The marquee features the game's "005" logo alongside a flashlight graphic, while the bezel displays the standard game instructions.
Cabinet dimensions :

005 was released in October 1981 in Japan by Sega. It was later exported to North America by Gremlin Industries and released there in December 1981.
005 (pronounced "double O five") is built around a spy theme strongly reminiscent of the James Bond franchise. Players take the role of secret agent 005 rather than the famous agent 007.
005 is widely regarded as the first stealth video game ever created. Instead of eliminating every enemy, players are encouraged to avoid detection while delivering secret documents. The game features enemy guards equipped with flashlights, making it one of the earliest video games to use a visual detection system as a core gameplay mechanic.
Original 005 PCBs are very rare today, as many were converted to Monster Bash after that game was released.
