SlixTop
SlixTop is very similar to BarNone II, published a few issues back. But there are a couple differences: first, a bug that caused BarNone II not to work properly on some systems has been fixed, as have other smaller bugs. Secondly, SlixTop looks very, very cool. SlixTop works in the same way as BarNone II. When the menubar is in the “hiding” state, move the mouse to the top of the screen to make it appear. SlixTop will pull down the menus for you, as if you had the mouse button down. After you choose a menu selection or click the mouse off the bar, the menubar will disappear again. The other two menubar states are “locked on” and “locked off”. To go between the three states, press OA-esc.

CrossHatch
CrossHatch is a puzzle game. The concept is simple. Gameplay is easy. Winning is very difficult. The action takes place on an 8x8 board which has been divided into sixteen puzzle pieces. The object is to reassemble the pieces on the board. However, each piece has certain jewels on it, and the jewels must be arranged in a special pattern. The computer divides the board up randomly, so you get a different puzzle every time you play!

TellMe
With TellMe installed, move the mouse pointer over any part of a Finder window that is showing and then press the “?” key. A little box will pop up telling you the pathname to the window you’re interested in. Also, whenever you copy a file or files, underneath Finder’s copying box, TellMe will put a box showing you the source and destination directories of the copy.

MIDI Synth Song
Mozart: Michael drummed up a very recognizable Mozart tune this month, Rondo Alla Tirca from the third movement of Sonata in A. Also included is a IIGS graphic format picture of Mozart. Use Minstrel from this issue or your Bonus Disk to load and play this great new selection. Minstrel is a New Desk Accessory that plays MIDI music on your GS. It puts the S back in GS! NOTE: The MIDI Synth Tool #035 must be installed on your System disk for Minstrel to work!

Clip Sounds
Brake and Car Horn: The two car sounds provided this month, Brake and Car Horn, are in the rSound format so they can be used by the Sound Control Panel, SeeHear, Rooster, or any in other IIgs applications that can read rSounds. Sounds need to be placed in the Sounds folder inside the System folder on your startup disk to be used as system sounds. The easiest way to do this is to let the Installer do it for you. We wanted to include more this month but these sounds got REALLY big, really fast! We’ll include a couple more next month.

Clip Art
Emergency Vehicles: As requested by numerous subscribers, we (actually Doris) present Emergency Vehicles. She has included some antique fire trucks, modern equipment, and an ambulance.

Spencer’s Corner
Pizza: No food is loved more by kids than pizza, and when it comes to pizza, everybody’s a kid. Use this announcement/Poster/Flyer to advertise any get-together where you want to ensure a good turnout——then don’t forget to deliver as promised!
