This disk contains a variety of utilities for the Apple adorned with a Z-80 card. The longer programs have their own documentation, while the shorter ones are simpler utilities which, once used, will cause you to develop some degree of dependence on them. The major utilities are DUU, a program that is the equivalent of a read/write track/sector utility permitting you to look at and alter the data on any sector of a CP/M disk; M7, a modem terminal program capable of sending and receiving files in either single or batch mode, which will operate with a variety of modems but does very well with the DC Hayes Micromodem; and HELP which aids in the building of 'help' menues. The documentation files included on this disk are: DU/MAP2, DU-V75, MODEM73, DUPUSR21, DUU, HELP, which should be dumped to your screen or a printer using the 'TYPE _____.DOC' command. Failure to read the documentation before using a program like CUU could be disastrous. The shorter utilities, which are all a bit habit-forming, include: SWEEP which makes disk copying a delight; UNERA to undo the destruction of an unwanted 'ERA ____' command; MLIST to batch list files; d to replace the DIR command with a sorted DIRectory listing; dirt which does almost the same as D; BOOT to get out of CP/M and into another operating system (e.g., Apple DOS); OLDBOOT which boots up either 13 or 16 sector Apple DOS disks; FIND for tracking files, along with UNLOAD and SORTDIR whose functions are implied by their names.
