Actual Entry (non editable)
Ace Combat (c) 1995 NAMCO, Ltd. Another perfect conversion of a coin-op called "Air Combat 22". Ace Combat on PSX extends the gameplay of Namco's arcade original, providing a lone pilot with a dozen high-performance planes to choose between, each with its own flight characteristics and weaponry. Then there are 17 linked missions that provide a clear sense of development. Unlike more serious flight simulators, PSX's Ace Combat offers straightforward, accessible controls that allow the game's addictive and ultra-playable nature to shine through. It's all here: air-to-air combat, and air-to-ground combat. The action is enhanced by a head-up display, realistic controls, damage reports, a variety of viewpoints and an incredibly realistic 3-D world. - TECHNICAL - Game ID: SLPS-00061 - TRIVIA - Ace Combat was released on June 30, 1995 in Japan. When Air Combat 22 was converted to PlayStation, A Japanese independant developer (nowadays calles SystemSoft) had already a game called Air Combat on the NEC PC-98 system. So, Namco decided to change the name to 'Ace Combat'.
