Denis through the Drinking Glass (c) 1983 Applications Software Specialities - TRIVIA - This game is a parody of Denis Thatcher, husband of then-Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Margaret Thatcher. The name is a combined play on 'Alice through the Looking Glass' and Denis' alleged alcoholism. The game was to have a sequel entitled 'The Tebbit'. This was to be a parody of Norman Tebbit, the then-Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, written in the style of 'The Hobbit', but despite being finished it was never released. One rumour states the game was cancelled due to the poor sales of Denis through the Drinking Glass, while another rumour suggests it was considered inappropriate for release due to the Conversative Party Conference bombing on October 12, 1984, in which Tebbit was injured and his wife was left disabled. The second reason is unlikely though, as advertising for the game disappeared months before the bombing took place.
