Space Ace is a cinematic action-puzzle game. Based on Don Bluth's legendary 1983 arcade laserdisc game, the adventure follows the heroic Dexter (who has accidentally been zapped by the Infanto-Ray, turning him into his weak adolescent self, 'Spacey') as he must dodge traps, defeat alien henchmen, and rescue the lovely Kimberly from the evil commander Borf.

TRIVIA

Translating Laserdisc Animation to 16-Bits:
Adapting an arcade game famous for running on physical laserdiscs presented a massive technical hurdle for the SNES, requiring Sculptured Software to meticulously redraw, compress, and sequence Don Bluth's iconic hand-drawn character frames to fit cartridge memory limits.

Absolute Entertainment's Final Major Push:
Published during Absolute Entertainment's later active years in the 16-bit console market, the game brought arcade-style quick-time event decision-making directly into living rooms.
