Space Ace (c) 1994 Absolute Ent., Incorporated. Space Ace is a cinematic action-puzzle game. Based on Don Bluth's legendary 1983 arcade laserdisc game, the adventure follows the heroic Dexter (who has accidentally been zapped by the Infanto-Ray, turning him into his weak adolescent self, 'Spacey') as he must dodge traps, defeat alien henchmen, and rescue the lovely Kimberly from the evil commander Borf. - TECHNICAL - GAME ID: SNS-5A-USA - TRIVIA - Translating Laserdisc Animation to 16-Bits: Adapting an arcade game famous for running on physical laserdiscs presented a massive technical hurdle for the SNES, requiring Sculptured Software to meticulously redraw, compress, and sequence Don Bluth's iconic hand-drawn character frames to fit cartridge memory limits. Absolute Entertainment's Final Major Push: Published during Absolute Entertainment's later active years in the 16-bit console market, the game brought arcade-style quick-time event decision-making directly into living rooms. - SOURCES - ROM dump (MAME).
