Actual Entry (non editable)
Justice League Task Force (c) 1995 Acclaim Ent., Incorporated. Justice League Task Force is a competitive 2D fighting game based on the popular DC Comics superhero team. Developed by Blizzard Entertainment, the game features a roster of heroes and villains battling to stop the cosmic threat of Darkseid, who has unleashed android duplicates to sow chaos. - TECHNICAL - GAME ID: SNS-AJLE-USA - TRIVIA - Development Oddity: A well-known piece of industry trivia is that Acclaim independently hired two different developersâBlizzard Entertainment for the SNES version and Condor, Inc. (later Blizzard North) for the Sega Genesis versionâto create what they expected to be the same game. The two developers were unaware of each other until they crossed paths, leading to two distinct ports that share the same base concept but were built from the ground up by different teams. Gameplay Mechanics: Influenced by the fighting game boom of the early 90s, the game utilizes a six-button control layout (similar to Street Fighter), offering light, medium, and heavy attacks for both punches and kicks. While the game features a standard story mode and versus play, it is often noted for its stiff difficulty and "weighty" feel compared to more fluid titles of the era. Character Roster: The initial roster includes six Justice League members: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, The Flash, and Aquaman. Three villainsâCheetah, Despero, and Darkseidâare also playable outside of the main story mode. Due to memory constraints on the cartridge, other planned characters like Martian Manhunter and Fire had to be cut during development. - SOURCES - ROM dump (MAME).
