Cannondale Cup (c) 1994 American Softworks. Cannondale Cup is a mountain bike racing game. It is functionally identical to the game Exertainment Mountain Bike Rally, which was released as a companion to the "Life Fitness" exercise bike peripheral for the SNES [1.3.1]. In Cannondale Cup, the branding, character names, and locations were modified from the original Mountain Bike Rally to feature official Cannondale sponsorship. Punch, speed jump and bump through deserts, mountains, cities and back roads as you race your way to victory! - TECHNICAL - GAME ID: SNS-ASCE-USA - TRIVIA - Released in November 1994 in the USA. Development & Origin: Developed by Radical Entertainment, the game uses the same engine and graphical assets as Mountain Bike Rally. It is often remembered for its unique use of Mode 7 graphics to simulate the mountain biking environment, though it received mixed reception due to its controls and sometimes repetitive gameplay loop. Gameplay Mechanics: The game features a blend of racing and combat elements, allowing players to punch opponents while riding [1.3.3]. Players must manage an energy meter to maintain speed, and while hitting obstacles can damage the bike, finding "repair bonuses" on the track restores performance.
