Zen-Nihon Pro Wrestling: Sekai Saikyou Tag is the second entry in the Super Famicom series dedicated to All Japan Pro-Wrestling. Arriving just five months after the debut title, this game focuses on the prestigious Real World Tag League tournament. It introduces significant refinements to the core engine, including enhanced tag-team mechanics, expanded move-sets, and specialized double-team maneuvers for each roster pair, providing a more strategic experience than its predecessor.

Released in December 28, 1993 (Tuesday) in Japan, only five months after the original Zen-Nihon Pro Wrestling—demonstrated Masaya's commitment to capitalizing on the popularity of the wrestling simulation sub-genre during the console's peak.
The "World's Strongest Tag Determination League": The game is themed around All Japan’s premier annual round-robin tournament. In reality, this tournament has been held since 1977, typically occurring in early December. The inaugural 1977 tournament was originally titled the "Open Tag League" and was won by the legendary Dory Funk Jr. and Terry Funk.
Roster Updates: The game features a revised roster reflecting the 1993 tour. Notable exclusions from the previous game include Masanobu Fuchi, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, Yoshinari Ogawa, and Rusher Kimura. These were replaced by high-profile additions: The Can-Am Express (Doug Furnas and Dan Kroffat), The Eagle, and Jun Akiyama—the latter of whom was a rookie sensation at the time and would go on to hold a major administrative role within the AJPW organization.
Gameplay Improvements: The title moved beyond simple singles combat by prioritizing the dynamics of tag-team matches. The implementation of specific tag-team maneuvers allows for better team synergy, forcing players to account for both partner positioning and individual wrestler stats.
