TRIVIA

Released on May 22, 1993 (Saturday) in Japan at a retail price of 9,000 JPY. Final Fight 2 is one of Capcom's biggest selling titles with over 1,03 million units sold worldwide.

Two-Player Cooperative Play: A major technological and design leap over the previous Super Famicom ports, Final Fight 2 features true two-player simultaneous gameplay, finally bringing the series' hallmark co-op brawling to the home console.

Cameo-Rich Environments: The game is famous among fans for its hidden references to the broader Street Fighter universe. Players can spot Chun-Li dining in the Hong Kong stage, alongside a sign referencing Ryu. In the Paris stage, a spectator bearing a striking resemblance to Guile can be seen cheering in the crowd.

Maki’s Legacy: While Carlos’s appearances are limited to minor cameos (such as in Capcom Fighting Jam), Maki became a recurring figure in the Capcom roster. She notably appeared in Capcom vs. SNK 2 (2001), where her moveset and weapon usage—specifically her tonfa—are directly derived from her combat style in this title.

Thematic Power-ups: Continuing the series’ tradition of themed collectables, the "Guy Doll" serves as an extra life, while the "Master Genryusai Doll" provides the player with temporary invulnerability.

The game was exported in USA as Final Fight 2 [Model SNS-F2-USA].
