Actual Entry (non editable)
Fuzzical Fighter (c) 1991 Sigma Enterprises, Incorporated. Fuzzical Fighter is a side-scrolling shooter developed by Sigma that blends classic shoot’em up gameplay with light RPG elements. On the magical planet of Funny, the balance of the world is threatened after the mysterious Dimensional Stone is stolen. In a desperate attempt to save the kingdom, the king sends his finest pilot, Mark, aboard the legendary Fuzzical Fighter. The game is divided into two main phases: - Preparation phases, where players customize and upgrade their ship. - Action phases, featuring traditional side-scrolling shooting stages filled with enemy waves and powerful bosses. Throughout the adventure, Mark travels between towns where he can buy new engines, shields, weapons (Shots), and special items, while also selling old equipment. Each kingdom features its own king, small subplot, and various services. Players can gather information about their mission, obtain level passwords, or rest at the Inn to fully recover health. Once ready, players can head to the Inn to begin the next mission. During action stages, the ship’s configuration can be changed at any time through an in-game menu, allowing players to switch weapons, use items, or activate the autopilot system. Known as the FAPS system, the autopilot mode — called “Fuzzy” mode — lets the ship fly automatically using preset behaviors such as Attack or Defense. The ship can also cast powerful magic spells, though doing so consumes Magic Power and requires careful management. Fuzzical Fighter features eight levels in total and uses a simple four-digit password system to save player progress. - TECHNICAL - Game ID: SEI-1E - TRIVIA - The game was released on May 17, 1991 (Friday) in Japan at a retail price of 6,200 JPY. - STAFF - Director: Hiroaki Kawamoto Planner: Masura Oka Designer: Takeo Kakazu, Jun Uchijima Sound Creator: Sachiko Oita Programmer: Tatsuya Miyata, Hiromu Yamamoto Special Thanks: Mutsumi Murakami, Hisaki Katoh Adviser: Kyoko Nakagawa, Yuichi Watanabe, Masashige Nii, Akihiro Akamatsu - SOURCES - ROM dump (MAME).
