Released on August 11, 1987 in Japan. Retail price was 3900 Yen.

The game used real human voices for the sound effects such as Reach, Ron, and Kang. In addition, the sound effects of this game, including those, have been used in some TV programs (such as NTV "Quiz Donna Mon Dai?!").

In the same year, the same song as Family Mahjong is used in "Fight Quick Push Quiz Hi-Ho" released as an arcade game by Nichibutsu.
