Six-Trak [Model 610] © 1984 Sequential Circuits
The Sequential Circuits Six-Trak (Model 610) was a six-voice analog polyphonic synthesizer designed as an affordable, MIDI-equipped performance instrument. Developed by Sequential Circuits, it used Curtis analog voice chips and combined traditional subtractive synthesis with an integrated multi-track sequencer. Each voice could be assigned independent MIDI channels, making it one of the earliest implementations of multi-timbral analog synthesis. It was intended as a compact “studio sketchpad” synthesizer for programming layered arrangements and experimenting with MIDI sequencing.

The Six-Trak was designed during Sequential’s push to make more affordable MIDI synths after the Prophet-5 era.
It was among the first polyphonic synths to offer true multi-timbral behavior via MIDI sequencing tricks.
Despite having only one oscillator per voice, it is known for surprisingly thick sounds due to its Curtis filter and unison mode.
Its “one-knob interface” makes programming slower but highly structured.
The internal sequencer can effectively turn it into a mini workstation for 1984 standards.
