パロディウス 〜タコは地球を救う〜 (c) 1988 Konami Industry Company, Limited. (Parodius - Tako wa Chikyuu o Sukuu) The first game of the famous Parodius series! The gameplay is very similar to the Gradius games, with other aspects from games such as TwinBee. However, the characters are replaced with silly characters taken from either these or other Konami games as well as Japanese culture. The game is composed of six stages (+3 hidden stages) consisting of various obstacles and enemies such as penguins and bees, as well as more traditional Gradius enemies such as moai. As with Gradius, the game utilizes a similar selection-bar based power-up system. - TECHNICAL - GAME ID: RC759 BARCODE: 4988602537079 - TRIVIA - Released on April 28, 1988 in Japan. It was never exported outside Japan. The player can play as either Takosuke, an octopus, the Penguin (father of Pentarou) from Antarctic Adventure and the exclusive MSX game Penguin Adventure, Goemon from the Ganbare Goemon series, the Popolon knight from the MSX game Knightmare or the Vic Viper spaceship from Gradius. The music is mostly taken from classical music pieces. - TIPS AND TRICKS - The following passwords can be entered by pressing to pause the game, then type the password, then press and to resume the game. ZENBU: You get full power up. The password literary means everything. KONAMI: Always red bell-power (Vector Laser). BUTAKO: Always dark green bell-power (Up Laser). TAKO18TH: Always dark blue bell-power (Rotary Drill). PARO: Always white bell-power (wrap around horizontally). KATAI: Increasing the Shield durability. It doesn't work with ZENBU. - SERIES - 1.
