The Biostar MB-1433/50 AEA-P is a high-performance, early-to-mid-generation 80486 Baby AT motherboard manufactured by Biostar around 1992. Designed to push the boundaries of early 486 clock speeds, the board is centered around the OPTi 82C495SX VIP (Very Intelligent Processor) core logic chipset. The mainboard hosts a 237-pin Socket 3 footprint, providing native support for the Intel 486DX, DX2, and compatible processors operating at synchronous Front-Side Bus (FSB) speeds of 33 MHz or 50 MHz. Its peripheral expansion infrastructure relies on a classic 8-slot ISA bus layout (with some revisions offering limited VLB options), prioritizing high-speed memory and cache throughput. Memory management utilizes eight 30-pin SIMM sockets supporting up to 32 MB of Fast Page Mode (FPM) DRAM, complemented by a large, high-speed socketed L2 secondary static cache (SRAM) matrix configurable up to 256 KB.

The OPTi 82C495SX VIP Chipset: The OPTi chipset used here was legendary for its "write-back" cache controller. While many competitors were stuck using simpler "write-through" cache designs, the OPTi 82C495SX allowed for much faster data transactions between the CPU and main RAM. This made the MB-1433/50 AEA-P significantly faster than generic 486 boards in computation-heavy tasks like CAD design or early image processing.

The 50 MHz FSB Milestone: The "50" in the model name specifically highlighted its certification for 50 MHz operation. Achieving a stable 50 MHz bus speed in 1992 was extremely difficult because of heat and electrical signal timing; Biostar used high-density multi-layer PCB traces on this revision specifically to dampen the "ringing" (electrical noise) that usually caused crashes at such high speeds.
