Ultima: The Black Gate is an ambitious fantasy role-playing game originally developed by Origin Systems. As the seventh core installment in the legendary Ultima series, the game summons the Avatar back to the world of Britannia, where a series of bizarre ritualistic murders disrupts a solar eclipse, setting off an epic investigation into the fading principles of the Virtues.

Released in November 1994 in the USA.
Pioneering Open-World RPG Port:
Bringing the massive, interactive virtual ecosystem of the original PC release to console hardware, Ultima VII allowed players to explore an expansive seamless world, manipulate physical objects in the environment, interact with fully scheduled NPCs, and solve complex mysteries.
Console Content Adjustments:
Due to the hardware constraints of the SNES and strict content policies regarding religious and mature themes during the era, the console version underwent several notable dialogue modifications, censorship of graphic imagery, and structural simplifications compared to its PC counterpart.
