TRIVIA

Released on July 4, 1993.

The creators report that the game was developed over a two-week period, balanced alongside school and professional commitments. The final build comprises 2,600 lines of assembler source code, leveraging external libraries for file compression and Protracker module playback.

In the title screen's scrolling text, Jochen Knaus details his inspiration for porting the game to the Atari Falcon. Beyond testing his ability to code an entire game in assembler, Knaus sought to address his dissatisfaction with the performance of existing Atari GEM ports of Minesweeper. Ashamed to showcase these slower versions to his brother—who owned a new 486/33MHz PC running Windows 3.1—he designed this assembler port to demonstrate the true potential of the Atari Falcon when fully utilized.
