Rupert Bear is a cartoon character created by the English artist Mary Tourtel (1874-1948) and who first appeared in the Daily Express newspaper on November 8, 1920. He has since spawned three television shows, The Adventures of Rupert Bear (1970-1974), Rupert (1991) and Rupert Bear, Follow The Magic... (2006). He also appeared in Paul McCartney's 1984 music video 'We All Stand Together'.
