The VL/I-486SV2G is a legendary high-end Baby AT motherboard manufactured by ASUS around 1993 to 1994, widely regarded as one of the most reliable and efficient platforms of the 80486 era. Built around the highly optimized SiS 85C471 (and SiS 85C407) "Green PC" core logic chipset, the board features a flexible Socket 3 architecture. It natively supports a massive lineup of x86 processors, ranging from standard Intel 486SX/DX/DX2 up to AMD Am486DX4 and Cyrix variants, alongside support for the 5V Pentium OverDrive (P24T) processor. Its expansion layout includes two high-performance 32-bit VESA Local Bus (VLB) slots and seven 16-bit ISA slots. Memory handling consists of four 72-pin SIMM sockets supporting up to 64 MB (or 128 MB on later GX4 revisions) of Fast Page Mode (FPM) RAM, alongside dynamic write-back secondary L2 cache sockets supporting up to 1 MB of high-speed static SRAM.
