A multi-player networked simulation mecha battling game set in the original Gundam universe. The game is played inside a Gundam P.O.D. (Panoramic Optical Display) and requires a pilot card which is bought at the pilot terminal. The pilot card stores the player's name, faction, unit, number of kills, and point totals. Inside the Gundam P.O.D, the player is networked across Japan into a game with other teammates within their faction (Earth Federation or Zeon) to do battle against a team of players from the opposing faction. The players select which mobile suit they will pilot {along with optional equipment and upgrades) for the timed match and are dropped into the battlefield near their base. Players within the same game center can use a headset to communicate with team members or use a list of programed commands and requests to communicate with players in other game centers. Destroyed mobile suits respawn and battle continues until the time limit is reached or either base is destroyed.

TRIVIA

The game was launched in Japan on November 7, 2006 with arcades usually equipped with 4 pods (some amusement centers have more). Battles take places across Japan against other players from opposing factions. Arcades run the game through a reservation system as a single game will typically take 10–15 minutes and popularity makes for long lines. Players can opt to launch simultaneously with their friends or with other players who have also opted to launch at the same time, though it is not required. If players are not alone and launch with other people in the same arcade, voice chat becomes possible between the players.

SCORING
Points are awarded to the player for the damage they have done to the opposing team with additional points for destroying enemy mobile suits. Points are deducted if the player's mobile suit is destroyed. At the end of a battle the winning team's members are awarded additional points for victory.
TIPS AND TRICKS

After battle the players must update their pilot cards at the pilot terminal where they may be awarded optional upgrades for their mobile suits unlocked by their point totals or unlock new mobile suits through their number of kills. Also at the pilot terminal players can watch a replay of their battle from a third person perspective.
