Accepted [+] [X] Formula Racer 2012 New entry submitted by Andrzej Warszawski
Formula Racer 2012 (c) 2012 Kongregate
Original description:
More fast paced arcade racing from TurboNuke. Battle through 12 tracks from around the world, over three different race classes, upgrading to faster cars as you go.
- TECHNICAL -
Uses Adobe Flash Player.
Players: 1
Controls: 4 arrows or WASD
Other keys: 1
[SPACE BAR], [X] or [N] = kinetic boost (when it's at least filled in 20%)
- TRIVIA -
Released in May 2012.
"2012" in the game's title isn't the 2012th installment in the series, but a reference to the game's release year. It was the 2nd (and the last installment), although advertisements in some of the other games published by Kongregate refer the game to as "Formula Racer 2" possibly due to limited space.
Races in Formula Racer 2012 show telemetry data with position (cyan line), top speed (cobalt-blue line), boost (white line) and lateral G (emerald-green line).
This time no courses are deformed to look like any original track.
The speed is measured in a mile per hour, but it's not shown directly. See a detail in achievement "bat out of hell" saying "reach a speed of 268 mph".
- TIPS AND TRICKS -
* Choose the tires according to the weather: dry tires are for dry weather and wet for rain.
* Save cash up as the entrance both for next races in the race class (and the class itself) is paid.
* The boost increases slowly during driving, but it'll be filled faster when braking.
* Don't hit any opponent: you'll not only lose speed, but also boost, time and your position will be lower.
* The engine, handling and boost are now adjusted with 3 bars. One element affects 2 other.

[SPACE BAR], [X] or [N] = kinetic boost (when the bar is filled at least 20%)
- TRIVIA -
Released in April 2011.
The special car unlocked after getting 3rd (or better) place after all races is an extremely tuned Morris Cooper.
The stages are raced on totally different circuits than in real life: USA is raced at Circuit de Catalunya in Spain; Australia is raced at RedBull Ring in Austria; Canada is raced at Silverstone in Great Britain; China is raced at Monza in Italy and Bahrain is raced at Hungaroring in Hungary. Of course all these tracks are deformed.
- TIPS AND TRICKS -
* The kinetic boost bar rises slow during driving, but faster during braking. Hitting other bolides depletes the boost.
* You can upgrade the car up to 16 levels. Adjust the setup between speed, handling and boost by dragging the cursor around the setup triangle.
* Better handling means lower speed and weaker boost. Drag the cursor more towards handling when the race is going to be driven in the rain as there's no option to mount rain tires. Look at the cloud in the race selection field, click "set up car", drag the ball to handling and then start the race.
* Learn the tracks and find the best racing lines.
* Hit the boost when coming out of bends.
* Reach top 3 in all races to unlock a total beast - special car with awesome acceleration, super high speed and super handling.
* You can finish a race in under 2 minutes when you use the special car and the "great time" achievements will be passed.
* The special car can be used to pass many other achievements.
* Road hog achievement (cause another car to crash) can only be scored randomly, but you'll also crash when you're pushing any opponent.
* Reach 278 mph in the special car by dragging the
settings ball to the top (full engine power). You can reach 230 mph in the bolide by upgrading it to the maximum level and dragging the settings ball just like in case of special car - to the top.
* The cone is hidden somewhere at Bahrain stage.
* The entrance only to the 1st race (USA) is free. You have to save money up to buy licenses for entrance to all the remaining courses.

Accepted [+] [X] Rally Championship Update submitted by Andrzej Warszawski
Rally Championship (c) 2008 Miniclip SA
Original description:
Compete in 3 grueling stages: Sweden, Germany and Mexico. Become the World Champion.
- TECHNICAL -
Uses Adobe ShockWave
Players: 1
Controls: 4 arrows
Other keys: 2
[SPACE BAR] = handbrake; [C] = toggle views between 3rd person (chase view) and 2nd person (hood view)
- TRIVIA -
Released in April 2008.
Actually, the stages in German forests are closer to Finnish gravels, Mexican deserts are more like Argentinian deserts.
The cars don't differ in terms of any specifications.
The game features 2 types of scoring: table, race and post-race. The table scoring is represented by championship standings (scores are awarded after 4 rounds), race scoring involves taking Miniclip icons, where post-race score is a bonus for position after crossing the finish line and car condition bonus (wrongly referred to as damage).
The speedometer shows 10 km/h even when the car is stopped; moreover the speed measurement begins at this speed. The speedometer has numbered labels every 30 km/h and 1 line between them, apparently showing 15 km/h.
- SCORING -
Miniclip icon: 200; 500 or 1000 points (always random)
1st position at finish line: 10000 points
Damage bonus (car condition): 100 points per 1%
Table scoring position 1: 10 points
Table scoring position 2: 8 points
Table scoring position 3: 6 points
Table scoring position 4: 5 points
- TIPS AND TRICKS -
* Keep an eye on the stopwatch and whenever you see it, take it! You'll not be likely to finish 1st when you forget to do so.
* Use the handbrake before sharp turns: handbrake is reported to be the rally driver's best friend.
* Don't change views before the countdown says "GO!": when you keep the hood view during the whole countdown, you'll have a broken 3rd person view showing the rear quarter.
* Pick all the wrenches up: when you hit any obstacle, you'll damage the car. When the car is heavily damaged, you'll not be able to accelerate as fast as you'd have an undamaged car.
* The co-pilot has no voice, instead the pace-notes are represented by 3 beeps: the low frequency is for u-turns (degree 1), middle - for a bit easier turns (degree 2: sharp), where the high frequency beep is for easy turns (degree 3). You have to look just below the progress bar as the beeps are all the same, no matter whether the turn is left or right. The notes appear for only half a second.
* Finish 1st for maximum score (both post-race bonus and table standing).
* Don't drive too fast: even if the speedometer shows maximum speed of 250 km/h, don't try to reach that speed. None of 12 stages allow to do so. You'll be able to reach maximum 190 km/h.
