Super Valis is a side scrolling action game by Telenet and based on Valis IV originally released for the PC-Engine. Unlike other games of the Mugen Senshi Valis series, the female heroine of the series isn't the young school girl named Yuuko Asao (she has become a goddess and has left the human world in this episode). Consequently, the powerful and eponymous Valis sword was awarded to the red haired Rena, and it is now her responsibility to protect the almighty blade. The game follows the Valis tradition, and our new heroine must travel through Dream Land, from the deserted ruins of Vecanty to the high tower of Babylon, and save the world from soulless demons. Her sword can fire blue fireballs and special power stones scattered around each stage award her new abilities and enhancements, including multi ways beams, homing shots, power armors, life and so forth. Additionally, experience points earned during gameplay also power-up and increase her maximum life throughout the game. However, the multi-playable characters gameplay featured in other Valis games has disappeared, and only Rena is playable in this Super Famicom version.
