(Ranma ½)
Ranma ½ is a side scrolling fighting/action game by Masaya and is the first in the trilogy for the PC Engine system. The game stars Ranma, a boy who has the ability to turn into a girl when he gets splashed with cold water. He and his father Genma are left to rue their misfortune after falling in magical hot springs during an intensive martial-art training somewhere in China. The game closely follows the manga and features many of the locations and events from the popular franchise .The Story mode gets to play as Ranma through eight chapters and each area gets him to fulfill a task. The gameplay alternates between action and fighting themes - Ranma often has to run while avoiding projectiles of all kind hurtling through the air, jumping over pits or obstacles and each area ends on a final one-on-one fight. This final opponent, one of Ranma's longtime rival, must be beaten to proceed to the next stage. Players can resume progress during the game after receiving a password awarded at the end of each chapter. The game also features a versus mode where Ranma (or Ranma-girl) can fight another opponent such as Ranma, Genma, Tatewaki Kuno, Ryoga Hibiki and Shampoo.
