Mahjong was released on August 27, 1983 in Japan. The same day of another title; "Gomoku Narabe Renju [Model HVC-GO]".
This was the first mahjong game on the Famicom.
Rev. B: the only difference to the Rev. A is that someone at Nintendo clearly didn't like the number 8, and its design was modified. Literally nothing else is different between the two.
Even though it is for one person, it can be operated with the second player controller.
