(Genji Tsuushin Agedama)

Genji Tsuushin Agedama is a side scrolling game which features an interesting blend of shooting and platforming action. It is based on a really funny Japanese animation series featuring a young boy and his rabbit-like flying robot. The boy can walk and jump (this is the platform side of the game) but the screen never stop scrolling throughout the game (this is the shooter side of the game). As a simplistic way to look at it, let's say it is a shooter with a pinch of gravity. Features do not stop here though, and pressing up and jump at the same time triggers double jumps! Our character has also access to magic powers: fire, wind, genie, thunder and so forth. To use them, the player first needs to collect the correct power-up icon. Then, by holding the fire button, he can charge-up and fire a powerful attack that wipes out most of the enemies on screen. All in all, the game counts fifteen different special attacks! Other power-ups can also be collected, like the yellow (invincibility) or blue (flying goblin) droplets. Waparu, the rabbit-robot, appears from time to time and help our hero by replenishing his health.
