Badlands was released in June 1984 in Japan. It was Konami's only laserdisc game.
The game was distributed by Centuri in the U.S.
On June 26, 1986, Gary Hatt, of Ontario, California, set a world record on this game, scoring 146,080 points on Twin Galaxies Tournament Settings at the Huish Family Fun Center in Montclair, California.
