DESCRIPTION

[CONSOLE] NEC PC-Engine CD Game

Ane-San © 1995 NEC Avenue, Limited.

Ane-San is quite a unique side scrolling beat'em up game by Nec Avenue. It features a group of three (which later expand to five) rough ladies with strong attitudes on a journey of revenge against an evil Yakuza gang of bikers (often referred as the Japanese mafia) exclusively composed of women. The three main fighters are the thin Ai, the athletic Chika and the strong Makoto. Interestingly, the player has to pick one of the remaining girl if one of them die in combat. Each one of our five heroines have a standard punch, a kick and a flying kick in her arsenal of moves. They can also grab their opponents by the hair and pull them out until they finally... die. A special attack can be executed by pressing the two action buttons at the same time. At the end of each beaten stage, our girls get a well deserved rest in their bedroom where they can buy items to decorate the room and improve their fighting skills, or participate in special (and odd) mini-games. The first one gets two opponents to fight in an ugly-face contest by actively bashing the D-pad.
